Australia's 'Bay'-class customs patrol craft

In February 1999, Austal Ships of Henderson, Western Australia, delivered the first of a series of eight 38.2m aluminium alloy hulled patrol boats to the Australian Customs Service. The last of the series is scheduled for delivery in August this year, although the builder's interest does not end there — the contract additionally calls for 3.5 years maintenance of the craft at their various stations around the coast, with an option to extend this arrangement to ten years.
