The largest Schottel controllable-pitch propeller systems delivered to date are of the SCP 2004XG-type with a power rating of 25 000kW (propeller diameter 6.80m), for two vessels in a series of ten ex-Norasia container ships. These fast containerships, originally built by HDW in Kiel and in China for Norasia, were decommissioned following repeated damage to the cp hub. And in order to put these ships back into service, the existing propeller system was overhauled and two of the ships fitted with a new propeller system.
