'New perspective' on marine engine testing

A British automotive technology specialist is claiming that it can offer advanced testing for marine engines of up to 61itres and 12 cylinders at full power in any operating conditions. Prodrive, has invested nearly a quarter of a million pounds in a new engine tilt rig at its test facility in Milton Keynes in the UK. Prodrive envisages that the rig will be primarily used to check oil circulation, both oil uptake and return to the sump, as well as oil aeration. To measure the latter, Prodrive has also installed an oil aeration monitoring system. In addition, the test rig has the same data logging capability of a standard engine test cell.
