Humber Electrical has recently completed a second contract for Shell International Trading and Shipping to replace and upgrade the Motor Control Centres on the Bonny Gas Transport (BGT) gas carrier LNG Lagos which is managed by Shell. Having carried out similar work in 2006 on another BGT vessel, LNG Port Harcourt, Humber Electrical was contracted to remove and replace 18 motor control centres from the vessel's cargo system, engine room, ventilation and inert gas systems with new upgraded units. Designed and manufactured entirely at its Hull, UK, works, Humber Electrical carried out the installation and commissioning while the ship was dry-docked in Brest. The work had to be completed in a limited time frame of three months, and was completed on time and to the entire satisfaction of Shell.
