STADT makes propulsion progress

Norwegian specialist STADT AS is increasing its involvement in both the offshore and fishing industries with its diesel electric propulsion system. The company, located in Gjerdsvika on the northwest coast of Norway, has spent more than seven years developing the advanced solution, patented two years ago and based on Sinus-technology.rnThe new system was first installed in 2008 on the seismic research vessel Sanco Star and later her sister ship, Sanco Spirit (see MER, November 2009). It is now installed on the 90ft purse seiner Harto, the first fishing vessel to operate with the system, and more recently aboard the purse seiner Stokke Senior.
