NORWAY'S AUTRONICA Fire and Security AS acquired gas detection systems developer Omicron in 2008. With a high percentage of tankers choosing Omicron gas detection, the acquisition was seen at the time as a shrewd investment, giving Autronica's complementary fire detection and suppression systems more visibility in this sector whilst Omicron products would benefit from an established worldwide distributor and service network.
