To recap, the company has announced that it has placed orders for a new generation of giant containerships,each with a capacity of 18 000teu, making them the largest such vessels ever built. Known as the Triple-E class, a total of 30 ships could be constructed -10 are now on order at DSME in South Kores and the company has options with the builder for two tranches each of 10 vessels which will lapse, we understand, by the end of the year if they are not taken up.
