WWL Cuts Emissions by 21%

Wallenius wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL), managed to cut its CO_2 emissions by 21% last year, compared to 2009. The company attributed the change to increased fleet optimisation, utilisation and fuel efficiency. The company also reported results of its low-sulphur fuel policy, which has allowed the company to cut its sulphur dioxide emissions (SO_2) emissions by 151 000t from 2000 to 2010. Proud of its results, Arild B. Iversen, CEO of Wallenius Wil-helmsen Logistics declared: 'Our commitment to sustain-ability, in good times and bad, has delivered steady and strong results. This is the best way to prepare our customers for a world of increasing environmental costs and regulations.'
