The era of widespread shipbuilding in Europe has waned, with Japan, Korea and China vying for shares of the world orderbook. Given the combination of lower labour costs and proximity to the yards, it is not surprising that propulsion systems are being manufactured locally. "We signed our first licencing agreement in Asia in 1926 and we have seen the number significantly increase since then," Mikael C.
