Japanese demand for inert gas

Wilhelmsen technical Solutions reports that it has received multiple orders for its Dry Inert Gas Generator (DIGG) systems from Japan Marine United's Tsu shipyard. Two DIGG units will be installed on an LNG carrier for owner Tokyo LNG Tanker/Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and another for Tokyo LNG Tanker/NYK Line. The system comprises an inert gas generator, refrigeration unit and a combined cooler/dryer. It is said to have been chosen as it occupies less space and volume in the engine room compared with those from competitors. The units will be delivered in 2016.
