KR kicks off green certification centre

The korean Register has announced that its new green-ship equipment certification centre has opened for business in Gunsan. KR is a founding member in the 30bn Won centre, which is a world first and will test, evaluate and certify environmentally-friendly equipment. The new centre is equipped with an 8MW-class engine test-bed, hybrid power systems, a fuel Q/P and emission bench, organic ranking cycle (ORC) systems and other facilities.
