To promote sustainabilityrnThis corresponds with the study by the Hart-man Group in which the main reason listed for the general population to read food labels was "I try to eat healthy," followed by "I'm curious about what's in my food."rnThere is another facet of the organic consumer. A study by Edelman shows that the general consumer is very concerned about social and environmental aspects of food, and will retain brand loyalty despite slightly higher costs if she perceives a product to be socially or environmentally positive.
