Color fastness properties of silk fabric dyed with Poinsettia Leaves

Pollution, ecology and environment talked about both Nationally and Internationally. The increasing awareness of these factors associated with synthesis, processing and use of these dyes has led to worldwide interest in coloration of textiles with flora and fauna. When a colored textile is subjected to particular conditions, e.g., during washing, one or more of several things may happen. There may be alteration in hue, value and intensity. In certain cases, there may be alteration in all three. Further, under certain conditions, e.g., during washing adjacent white material may become coloured and coloured material may require new colour due to the transfer of dye from the original dyed material, which is generally known as staining.
