The beleaguered textile Industry, among the sectors worst hit by downturn in the West, is showing nascent signs of a revival. Data from the Textile Ministry for April-July 2009 show an improvement in fabric production by around 2.2 per cent. Yarn production, initially in negative, has shown a minor, but importantly, positive trend in July.rnThough the overall export scenario is still to pick up, an uptrend has been reported in July and August, especially in the synthetics sector. Exporters are reporting an inflow of Christmas orders, particularly in the home textile segment, while inventories are reported to have gone down significantly.
