Fixing thermoplastic signs to textile materials - by welding sign through textile material to opposite layer of thermoplastic film

Signs, letters and similar marks are applied to textile materials by (a) placing a sign of thermoplastic resin on one side of the textile material, (b) placing a piece of thermoplastic film on the other side of the textile material under the sign, and nc) welding a thin edge zone of the sign to the film through the textile material by a welding tool acting on the outer sides of the sign and film. Simple method givin a very strongly bonded sign. This resists removal by normal wear, washing etc. Suitable for mass prodn. Can be used with a wide range of signs and textile materials, including natural and/or synthetic materials.
