50cr. Earmarked to treat effluents from dyeing units

A sum of 50 crore has been earmarked for the implementation of a marine discharge project for treated effluent from dyeing and bleaching units, situated mostly in the western belt of the State.rnThe marine discharge project, envisaging the laying of 350 km of pipelines, has been proposed as a permanent solution to the problem of pollution caused by the units located in and around Tirupur, Coimbatore, Erode, Karur, Dindigul, Namakkai and Salem.
