Maharashtra govt proposes new amendments in Textile Policy

The government of western Indian state of Maharashtra has proposed new amendments in its textile policy, following a periodical review of the policy.Through the proposed amendments, the state government plans to facilitate construction of integrated textile parks in the state's highest cotton producing belts, The Indian Express reported.In spite of being the country's biggest cotton producing state, most of the cotton produced in Maharashtra is not processed domestically, State Textiles Minister stated.
