Scott Bader, a UK-based chemical company, has developed two new Crestabond grades of methacrylate primer-less structural adhesives, Crestabond M7-05 Black and M7-15 Black. The new adhesives have been specifically developed by Scott Bader in response to customer demand, particularly from fabricators bonding pig-mented ABS and carbon fibre (CF) composite components. With the significant growth in applications now specifying CF to achieve a lighter weight, the need for a black pig-mented adhesive system has significantly increased for the latest designs of finished composite parts now being structurally bonded in applications for motorsports, high performance and luxury cars, electric vehicles, racing yachts, and sports equipment, where aesthetics and finish quality are very important.
