The paper reports the study taken up to investigate the effect of coir fibers and coir fibres: recycled paper ratio on acoustical properties of the coir fibre reinforced recycled paper pulp biocomposites. Totally, ten different coir fibre : recycled paper pulp ratios were chosen for manufacturing biocomposite panels. It was observed that coir fibre: recycled paper ratio by weight of 20: 80 which is more effective than other mixing proportions. Also, the sound absorption values of the coir fibre reinforced recycled paper pulp biocomposites were highly influenced by the coir fibre content and increased with increasing coir fibre content in the biocomposites. A maximum of 36 % sound absorption is achieved in the frequency of 2000 Hz in the sample made out of 80 % recycled paper and 20 % coir.
