A company in China have developed a new graphene fibre and has received recognition from China's top science body for the same. The fibre has been used to produce clothes, sportswear and underwear. The technology makes graphene combine with high polymer materials under room temperature and adds antibacterial, ultraviolet-proof, anti-static and heat preservation properties to textiles. An expert appraisal meeting organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology confirmed that the graphene fibre preparation technology developed by Shanghai Kyorene New Material Technology Co, which won patent home and abroad, has been in line with the leading level in the world. Graphene is the lightest and thinnest material detected by human so far, while it is also the strongest one. "The new technology makes graphene fully combine with fibre and tests on textile products made by the fibres have special functions," said a leading scientist on graphene research in China.
