摘要

As is typical of cephalopods, the cuttlefish Sepia officinalis L. Is an opportunist predator. This study shows that Sepia selects the length of its prey taking into account its own size. In the nat- ural environment, the most important prey are fishes ad crabs. For each group, we have linked the prey remains (found regularly in the stomach contents of the cuttlefish) to total prey length. Prey remains consist of the merus of pereiopods 2 to 5 for crabs and otoliths for fishes. These Pieces are not attacked by enzymes during their transit through the digestive tract.
