Environmental Engineers: Attain Recognition As a Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE)

Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE-for licensed Professional Engineers, P.E.s) or Board Certified Environmental Engineering Member (BCEEM-for non-P.E.s) certifications are offered through the American Academy of Environmental Engineers (AAEE), and sponsored by A&WMA and 11 other engineering societies. With less than 2,600 BCEEs and BCEEMs, AAEE represents the top 4% of engineers practicing environmental engineering. They include chief executive officers, other officers, and engineers at all levels of major consulting firms, utilities, and agencies; deans and professors of environmental engineering depart-ments at colleges and universities; and environ-mental health and safety officers in industry.
