Welcome! Oh, you're going to love it here. Just about every Mac program, and every iOS app, is at least partly written in a language called Objective-C. The Cocoa (Mac) and Cocoa Touch (iOS) frameworks are built on it, in it, and for it, so everything from the APIs to the documentation to the exception messages assumes knowledge of Objective-C. For the experienced Cocoa or Cocoa Touch programmer, that is not a problem. When you're new, though, any problem you encounter—crashes, slowness, memory leakage, etc.—will be mystifying unless you know Objective-C.
