摘要

This book has already been reviewed several times (Nicolov 2003; Kuhnlein 2003; Strube 2003) within a short period after its publication, which indicates that it has successfully attracted the attention from the NLP (Natural Language Processing) community. From my point of view, those reviewers, especially Strube (2003), have done a good job and are difficult to surpass. However, all those reviews mentioned above are given from a wide angle without particularly aiming at any specific domain/application. On the contrary, we will try to review this book only from the machine translation (MT) point of view. We will examine if the topic of anaphora resolution is important to the MT application, and if the content provided in this book is helpful to the MT researcher/developer, after it is first scanned as follows.
