Few music groups can withstand the test of time, and even fewer can say they created a social impact that made the world a better place through their songs. Los Angeles' own, WAR is certainly one of those groups, a rare breed of funk, blues, soul, rock, jazz, and Latin flavor that defies time or genre. They are a group whose mission is as great as their sound; a message of racial harmony, smiling through the rainclouds of struggle unto a golden pot of happiness at the end of life's proverbial rainbow, seems to seep from their Latin-fused melodies of brotherhood and oppression.
