Gottfried Wild has sent us this query. The image above of a British articulated steam locomotive is taken from the patent column of The Engineer magazine dated September 27, 1912. The text with the image (which didn't clean up sufficiently clearly to reproduce here) is "1,027,810. Railway Locomotive. T H. Brigg, Godstone, England. Filed April 18th, 1912. Mr Brigg is well known for improved traction engine bar and horse bar patents and is well known to most of our readers as an authority on traction systems for horses or steam, and this seems to be one of his best."
