PORTA'S OTHER PROJECTS -THE'NOBEL BOILER'

One of L.D. Porta's less well known projects is another non-railway application, but one which has clear crossover with locomotive technology both actual and proposed. This one has become known as the 'Nobel Boiler'. Why Nobel? It is not some obscure type of boiler from times past, rather it became known as the 'Nobel Boiler' after a colleague of Porta's suggested Porta deserved to win a Nobel Prize for it. So the unnamed technology suddenly had a name, if somewhat tonaue in cheek!
