What's new in LNGC lifecycle care

Onboard measurement of sloshing impacts Det Norske Veritas (DNV) has recently presented interim results from an ongoing study of the cargo sloshing phenomenon in membrane tank LNGCs using full-scale load measurements. Managed by DNV, the joint industry project was launched in 2007 to measure sloshing impact loads and containment system structural response on a working vessel. The other JIP participants include BW Gas, Teekay, Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME), GTT and Lloyd's Register.
