This Foreword will be my last as editor of LNG World Shipping. I have been in the hot seat since the first issue in 2004 and writing about LNG carriers since 1975. It is now time to ease back and hand over to the next generation. I qualified as a naval architect back in the days when ships were still being built in the UK and in numerous yards across Europe. While it was an exciting time, after a few years of number-crunching in the aid of hull structural design, I realised I wanted to follow a more non-traditional path.
