PURPOSE:To reduce wasteful expense and to prevent the destruction of buried cultural properties by using underground prospecting radar to allow the same to run in a lattice form within a range where an objective place is preset to perform prospecting and applying figuring processing to the obtained data. CONSTITUTION:At first, an underground prospecting radar 10 receives the reflected wave due to buried property or a stratum obtained by emitting an electromagnetic wave into the ground through a wide-band antenna to apply signal processing thereto. Next, a trial hole for setting effective measuring depth is digged at the arbitrary position of a place to be prospected. The data at that position is measured from the fault expressed clearly by the drilling wall of the trial hole by the radar 10 to set the effective measuring depth. Thereafter, the place to be prospected is divided and the radar 10 is allowed to run within the required section in longitudinal and lateral directions at a predetermined interval in a lattice form to perform prospecting. The obtained exploration data is read by a computer 20 and applied to filter along with the data of the fault previously obtained in the trial hole part to remove unnecessary data and converted to figure data to draw a contour map. The contour map is subjected to image processing and the obtained data are successively synthesized to draw buried topography.
