Today, the markets are telling a different story, but the company appears to remain on track despite these turbulent times.rnIoannis Lazaridis, a former banker from Credit Agricole Indosuez Cheuvreux was asked to join the Evangelos Marinakis-led shipping group in 2004. The plan, Mr Lazaridis told LSE, was to enhance the company's finance side. The company had started building a tanker presence, but Mr Marinakis was aspiring to establish a stronger presence in that sector by going public. He was looking for a candidate to assist in the potential new tanker outfit.
