Sustainable business

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an increasingly important aspect of economic and business activity and companies are expected to demonstrate how they are meeting that obligation, especially public companies. Shipping is no exception. Within that overall definition, 'sustainability' has become something of a buzzword in the shipping industry and the larger maritime supply chain. IAME's president highlighted environmental impact as a key topic. Environmental protection and sustainability are particular targets with the current focus on reducing greenhouse gases becoming a high profile sustainability issue, among many others.
