'GREEN'BUILDINGS COME TO THE FOREFRONT

The federal government is in the process of guiding Australia through its transition to a low-carbon economy, introducing its plan for reducing carbon pollution and emissions trading. Whilst it has been identified by several high profile reports, including work done by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) that energy efficiency measures in the built environment can make a huge contribution to lowering Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS) does not include this sector.
