Light installation bookends Gold Coast in time for the 2018 Commonwealth Games

"HI-LIGHTS will contribute significantly to the presentation of the city during GC2018 and will encapsulate the vibrancy, lifestyle values and forward-thinking characteristics of the Gold Coast," says Mayor Tate. The installation is the result of a Gateways Public Art Commission Project, which ran a worldwide competition in 2016 calling for design ideas for a public art commission of significant scale at two major entry points to the Gold Coast. Gateways are located in high traffic zones on the Ml Pacific Motorway and on the Gold Coast Highway near the international airport.
