Wharf Road is a 2km long two-lane street, mostly following the Hunter River foreshore. It is part of the Newcastle 500 Super Cars racecourse and the new lighting was operational for the first race in November 2017. The requirements were a controlled P3 category lighting, together with integrated public WiFi, speakers, additional floodlights and CCTV cameras. Because of the unique and prestigious location, additional decorative lighting elements were incorporated into the pole lighting system.
