As usual, Jim Benya hits the nail on the head (LD+A, June, "Letters"). One of the reasons the world is in a financial mess is that computers, devoid of judgment, have made rigid, standardized, formulaic decisions. This is the same direction lighting is going-who will bell the cat on the decision of what is "good?" Good taste cannot be legislated. Moreover, older eyes need different light levels than children.
