DOE Funds Small Business SSL Grants

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded six Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants and one Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant to small businesses targeting advances in solid-state lighting (SSL) technology. SBIR grants were awarded to ORBITEC for its off-grid solid-state agricultural lighting, Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc. for its dielectric printed circuit board, Luminus Devices, Inc. for its smart and efficient drivers for big-chip photonic lattice LEDs, and Universal Display Corporation for its thermal management of phosphorescent OLEDs, novel optical enhancement for thin phosphorescent OLED lighting panels, and ultra high-efficiency phosphorescent OLED lighting.
