23 firms want to build £500m Manchester Metrolink extensions

A total of 23 companies have registered their interest in the £500 million extensions to Manchester Metrolink. The project Is moving forward rapidly now that the funding package is in place. The Passenger Transport Executive announced the names of the companies on 6 November for the contract to build three new lines, to Oldham and Rochdale, Manchester Airport, Ashton-under-Lyne, and subject to private funding, Trafford Park, East Didsbury, and The Lowry Centre.
