TRANSIT PROGRESS IN DUBAI

THE inauguration of the metro Green line took place at 17.00 on 9 September, linking Etisalat and Dubai Healthcare City (22.5km, 14 miles), of which 7.9km (4.9 miles) is underground and the remainder elevated. The new line serves the oldest and most congested part of Dubai. Revenue service started the following day. Together with the 27km (16.8-mile) Red line, opened last year, this creates the world's longest automated metro svstem.
