Shenzen Metro's rapid growth continues with two new lines

The 28 October opening of two new lines has made the Shenzhen Metro the third-largest network of its kind in China, bringing the network to 285 route-km (177 route miles) and eight lines, operated by three companies. The 30.2km (18.8-mile) line 7 features 27 stations, including ten interchanges, with another new station due to open in 2017. It runs south-east from Xili Lake in the north-west to Funin before turning to the north-east to terminate at Tai'an; services are initially running at ten-minute headways.
