The NISlObn (EUR1.8bn) PPP contract to extend the tramway in Jerusalem, Israel, was awarded to TransJerusalem J-Net on 8 August. The consortium is a 50/50 joint venture of the Spanish CAF Group and Israeli construction company Shapir Engineering & Industry, and includes operations and maintenance for 15 years (extendable to 25). The operator will be domestic partner Superbus.
