Throughout her career at Las Vegas-Clark County Library District (NVCCLD),Jennifer Schember has worked to turn a city of tourists and new arrivals into a community. Of German-Japanese descent, Schember relishes herrnopportunity as community outreach and adult programming coordinator to honor Clark County's many ethnic and cultural groups. Deputy Director Robb Morss says she's "developed productive partnerships with each of the community's ethnic chambers" and dramaticaDy increased Heritage Month programming, with additional Heritage monthsrnhonoring the county's Asian Pacific Americans and Native Americans, seniors, and GLBTs.rnIn this entertainment capital, Schember's showmanship helps, whether she's sponsoring award-winning floats in heritage parades or high-profile events like the National BasketballrnAssociation s all-star career symposium and the mother/ daughter makeover event with stylist Jose Eber. Over 26,000 people attended diversity events in the past year.
