Williams pointed out that at least "the reporter was smart enough to interview our own street lit columnist Vanessa Morris [pictured]...who defends the genre as a chronicle of the African Americans who survived the 1980s drug wars."rnThe Annoyed Librarian, LJ's newest blogger, had a more contrarian approach. "Let's take a look at these motivations for buying crappy books," she wrote, provoking debate about the age-old issue of "giving them what they want."
