REGINA PUBLIC LIBRARY STAFF WON'T COLLECT FINES

Workers at Canada's Regina Public Library walked out on May 28 to stage a rally outside Regina City Hall. The 180 members of CUPE local 1594 asked the library board to return to negotiations after more than two years without a contract. Jeff Barber, library director and CEO, told LJ that "the library has extended an invitation to CUPE but has not yet received a response."
