The first volume in a planned trilogy, Francesca Haig's debut novel, The Fixe Sermon (LJ 2/15/15), features a postapocalyptic dysto-pia in which all people are born as twins-one physically perfect, the other bearing some form of mutation. The stronger Alpha twins rule society, while the inferior Omegas are separated from their siblings at an early age and con-signed to live in poverty in apartheid-era-like townships.
