News from the Center for the Book: Library: The Drama Within Published

The University of New Mexico Press, in association with the Center for the Book, has just published a book of photographs called Library: The Drama Within, by Diane Asseo Griliches. The book's 60 striking duotone photographs capture readers in libraries throughout the world, from the grand reading rooms of the Bibliotheque nationale in Paris and the Library of Congress, to a bookmobile in Shrewsbury, Mass., and the humble remodeled train depot that serves as a library in Cleveland, Miss. Each photograph is accompanied by a quotation about libraries or reading and an anecdote about the photograph or its subject.
