Since the second half of 2013, the global sheepskin market has shown signs of weakening, and the warm winter in many northern-hemisphere countries (especially Russia) makes the general sheepskin market even worse. It looks like 2014 is doomed to be an uneasy year. Just after the beginning of the year, the Russian ruble started to drop against the US dollar and the euro. Russian light industry is underdeveloped, with many of the everyday consuming necessities heavily relying on imports. With the depreciating ruble, prices for many imported goods were soaring, and Russian people started to get nervous.
