Bangladeshi footwear sector enjoys upturn in exports

According to Bangladesh's Leathergoods and Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association, in the first five months of the financial year combined leather and footwear industry export revenues underperformed, according to set targets. However, footwear exports alone managed to grow in that period. Bangladesh's footwear and leather industry has set an overall export target of $636.19 million for the first five months of the financial year, which runs from July to June. Overall export performance stood at $626.57 million, a shortfall of $9.62 million.
