Doubled Automotive leather sales

Germany's automotive leather sales almost doubled in 2010 as compared to 2009, said the German Leather Fédération (VDL). After a difficult year in 2009, thirty-five German tanners had a good year in 2010, with turnover increasing by 30% to a combined total of around EUR 400 million. VDL said that upholstery leather for the automotive and furniture markets account for around 70% of German leather production.
