Change! It is a surging force, a muse, and a reality for most of us in the fields of technology and education. As ISTE celebrates its 30~(th) anniversary, we step back from our dynamic present to review the past 30 years and consider how far educational technology research has come and where we are headed. I had the great pleasure of interviewing two leading experts who are also the editors of ISTE's research journals: Lynne Schrum, editor of the Journal of Research on Technology in Education (JRTE), and Ann Thompson, editor of the Journal of Computing in Teacher Education (JCTE). I want to begin by thanking them for sharing their insights and perspectives and invite you, as readers, to reflect on the questions and responses below.
